The Milwaukee Retired Police Association (MRPA) began in 1975 when a number of retired cops got together to form an organization with the goal of keeping in touch with each other after serving years together on the MPD.
We are celebrating our 49th anniversary with over 1200 members from coast to coast ranging in age from 42 to 98.
Membership in the MRPA is open to all MPD personnel who have retired or who have reached 25 years of service . This includes not only officers but members of MPD’s civilian staff as well as spouses of deceased MPD members.
We meet the second Wednesday of the month except January, June through August and December at the Todd Legion Post on 92nd and Beloit at 1 PM. At 10:30 AM some members come to play sheepshead before the meeting. Each gathering will feature something new, musical entertainment, various guest speakers, and important information concerning our health insurance and pension benefits. We also provide a free hot lunch, beer and soda. Camaraderie of ole’ friends at it’s very finest!
In addition, we have casino bus trips, a Spring Alioto fish fry, an annual Western Lakes CC golf outing, and a Christmas holiday dinner party at Alioto’s.
“The Call Box”, our newsletter sent out 9 times a year, will allow you to stay in touch with your friends scattered all over the country and keep you informed of the latest news of importance to you as a retiree of MPD, health insurance, pension issues, etc.
You certainly do receive a whole lot for only $5. per year! We would encourage you to join today by downloading an application from our website so that you can stay in touch and enjoy all those wonderful friendships you’ve created during the memorable years of your police career!
